No. The AI model is downloaded from Swoopty to your browser and runs on your device. Your photo never leaves it.
Why is it slow?
The model is large. With a modern browser and graphics card it takes a few seconds; on older phones it can take a minute or more.
Which model is used?
ISNet general-use (Apache-2.0 licence), a high-resolution segmentation network from the DIS project. It runs on your graphics card when the browser supports WebGPU, otherwise on the CPU.
